Lifelong friends are the best. There’s an intimacy that transcends time, space, and other life distractions. No matter what, you laugh together, cry together, get upset, even be downright angry with each other.
Because we do all the highs and lows together, we love and respect each other. We know each other—really know each other. We know what makes each other tick and what brings joy. Heck, you can even finish the other person’s sentence.
That’s when you really know someone.
You will do anything in your power for that person. And you know you will be richer for it. It’s because of that deep, deep love.
Such is the relationship that successful, long-standing brands have with their customers. They know them, they get them. They love them, they respect them. And the feeling is mutual.
In this scenario, no one is merely a number. All are people with the warts that are humanity. But because there is mutual love and respect, the business relationship is truly an emotional personal relationship that stands the test of time. One that must be nurtured.
So, do everything you can to really know your customer. To build a relationship based on sincere understanding and empathy.
